I'm an avid believer that you know you know something when you can teach it! And after years of teaching both informally and formally, I still get excited showing someone new the art of crochet! Keep up with past and future group teaching events here!

Who is Dee?
I like to say I am "Dee. All of the Above!" because I do a little bit of everything. In addition to being a Crochet Artist, I am a Christian, Educator (certified), Skater, Gardener, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend, and overall lover of all things crafts! I'm also known to dance without music and sing when I talk. lol I enjoy learning, so once I get into something, I want to learn as much about it as possible! So once I got into crochet, it became a part of my daily habits and eventually, my livelihood.
THYS is so cheesy. Why from the heart?
From the heart is truly how I operate. I'm a proud cornball and with crocheting, it's no different. I believe our gifts are meant to bless others so I do my best to keep THYS in mind with every order, project, gift, and lesson. Although THYS is a business (whoop whoop), there's a great amount of reward that comes in passing the art of crochet on to customers who receive custom items, creating new crocheters through teaching, and of course, sowing into the community through efforts such as our Day of Crochet drive for the homeless. Just trying to spread love in these streets one stitch at a time. :)
How did you get into crocheting?
Honestly, I needed something to do while I was on the train during my commutes to and from work. My grandmother and mother crocheted but it was one of the few crafts I had not yet gotten into. In 2014, however, I happened to see a friend posting about it online and decided to give it a try and I've been hooked ever since!! (haha see what I did there?) The train is also where I first started teaching crochet as people would sit down next to me and ask if they could learn! When I think about it, it's my first #crochetingwhile adventure as well!
Why do you crochet everywhere?
I can't help it!! haha I've never been great at staying still so crocheting on the go has become my norm. It's gotten to the point that if I'm not crocheting at an event, my friends/family are concerned. lol I thoroughly enjoy the art of crocheting but I also like walking, skating, swimming, and climbing trees while spending time with my peoples. I decided early on that I could do both: Keep an active lifestyle while also building my craft! It's also a great way for people to learn about crocheting and develop their own interests as well!
Rollerskating is as rewarding internally as it is externally. I've never been great with keeping up with the gym but skating is a habit that's easy for me to keep! Just as much as I keep my hooks in my purse, please know if you see me, my skates are nearby as well!
I absolutely love seeing how God works through nature. I've been gardening since 2015 and got into indoor plants in 2020 during the pandemic. I've been slowly converting my yard to only edible landscaping and a self-sustaining garden. Enjoy some photos from my home.
#wakepraycrochet is more than a hashtag for me but really how I get to enjoy each day...even the tough ones. Here are a few of my go-to verses for my good and bad days.
